Heidi Kodeski is the owner and physical therapist at Elite Performance and Therapy. Her clinic is housed within a large Integrative Medicine Clinic that offers chiropractic care, acupuncture, naturopathic physician care, neuropsychology, sports nutrition, & massage. ​

In her spare time, Heidi enjoys running around with her two beautiful girls, Lily and Gracie who are 13 and 11 years old. They definitely keep her on her toes. She also teaches aerobics, boot camp, cycle classes, and enjoys recreational activities such as: camping, wake boarding, skiing, hiking, swimming, Cross Fit, Yoga, and dancing. Heidi was a competitive swimmer for 12 years.

Heidi has been a physical therapist for 23 years and for 20 of those years, she has been a clinical director or an owner of a physical therapy practice. She started an outpatient sports medicine and orthopedic physical therapy practice on December 1st of 2015. Heidi has extensive experience in outpatient orthopedics and sports medicine. Her training includes FMS (Functional Movement System) developed by Gary Cook; Gary Gray Institute, EXOS (formerly known as Athletes Performance), and NAIOMT (The North American Institute of Orthopedic and Manual Therapy).

EDUCATION

Heidi received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Health and Human Development, with an emphasis on Pre-Physical Therapy from Montana State University in 1999. She then attended Eastern Washington University in 2001 a graduated with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy.

SKILLS

Heidi uses a wide range of skills that include her training with NAIOMT, FMS, Gary Gray Institute, J Tech Medical, and Exos, a company founded to maximize the potential of athletes. She has worked with the Seattle Seahawks, Thunderbirds, Seattle Sounders, Everett Silvertips, Aqua Sox, and many collegiate and high school athletes. Not only does Heidi enjoy treating athletes, but she also treats repetitive strain/strain injuries, motor vehicle accident patients, the weekend warrior injury, CrossFit Athletes, and any post-operative or surgical patient.

Heidi uses a wide range of therapy skills including: manual therapy, functionally designed exercise programs, biomechanical and postural training, education regarding injuries, return to run programs, proper lifting and biomechanical training, and she uses therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, & the “Recovery Pump” to minimize pain and inflammation. Heidi is also versed with soft tissue mobilization, including use with Graston tools. These tools help reduce the patient’s pain and increase function through a combination of breaking down scar tissue and fascia restrictions that are usually associated with some form of trauma to the soft tissue (e.g. a strained muscle, pulled ligament, tendon, or fascia). Heidi is well versed in post-operative surgical protocols and has observed many of the surgeries her patients have had in the orthopedic unit.

PAST EXPERIENCE

Heidi also holds a specialty certification with J Tech Medical to perform functional capacity examinations for injured workers and individuals with a disability. She handles many types of work injuries and is well versed with the Labor and Industry program for injured workers. Heidi ran the Work Conditioning Program at WA Hand Therapy. She holds additional experience working in trauma units on spinal cord, traumatic brain injuries and acute care. She has worked in pediatrics for several years as a pediatric physical therapist as well. Heidi also has experience working with hand, finger, and elbow injuries and was a clinician with WA Hand Therapy.
